What's New?

 Nowadays we depend more on the internet to keep ourselves updated from recent happenings around the world. When the corona virus spreads all over the world, we can only rely on the internet or from the online community to know the current situation we're in. We would always check the updates of the Department of Health (DOH) through their facebook page of what we must do, what to avoid, the number of new cases, and other information. Now that we are in the new normal, we use the internet more often to be aware of the latest news than watching it on our television. 

Online community has become my number one (1) source of information. As a student one of the few things that really helps me is I need to know if we have classes or not, online, if we're experiencing heavy rain. The news and information spread faster online than waiting for the news on the television. Our generation doesn't depend on television and radio anymore, we are more comfortable searching for information on the internet. Being updated online makes it also safer for us teenagers, when the kidnapping incidents are frequently happening, we are being informed of the places that the incident occured and with this, we will know how to keep ourselves away from harm. The cruelty of our society is being exposed on the internet and to be a good citizen, I would often consider other people's perception, opinion, and concerns, that I usually read in the internet, on how we can treat people better than we used to. Through the internet we are now more open-minded to new things. Personally, being updated on the online community makes me feel a bit safer and helps me become a better person. The way people– that I admire online, influences me to do more things that would help me in the build my future. 

In conclusion, staying updated to the online community produces a safer environment for everyone. We become more knowledgeable of what our world actually looks like, that it is not as good as thought it is. Seeing what is happening around the world, it makes us realize what we should do and what we can do. Our actions can be determined by how well we know what's happening on the internet.
